Principal's Message

Hello, Cortez Families!

I am Ms. Lin Soriano and I am thrilled to be the principal of Cortez Elementary School. I have worked in the Clark County School District for over 20 years and have a true love for education. I have been a classroom teacher in both elementary and middle school, as well as an administrator for over 10 years in elementary, middle, and high schools.

I am originally from Indiana and have been living in Las Vegas since 2003. I went to Indiana University for my bachelor's degree, UNLV for my master's degree, and UNLV for my juris doctor. Go Rebels!

In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my two dogs and hiking as far as their legs can take them! I also enjoy traveling and exploring new places-anything that challenges me and my brain to grow and learn new things.

I am excited to continue leading the Cortez Caballero Community to even greater student success and achievement. I am confident that as we come together as a community that values education, we will be a stronger team ready to take on any obstacle we may face!
